2017 Safeway Open

THE COURSE

Silverado Resort & Spa (North Tournament Course) – Redesigned a few years ago by Johnnie “McEgo Talky-Talk” Miller, the Silverado North Course is intended to be both enjoyable for well-to-do tourists as well as provide a pro tournament layout. During the most recent redesign, the course was lengthened by 250 yards and the fairways were widened considerably. At 7171 yards, the par 72 course  doesn’t pose any real threats and players will be able to go low (Scott Piercy holds the course record at 62). Past Champions have fared well in the following stat categories: Strokes Gained Approach, Strokes Gained Putting, and Birdie Average.

WHO WE ESPECIALLY LIKE

Chez Reavie. (100)    Had a great year last year. Strong in SGA and SGP.

Webb Simpson.  (37)  Was playing exceptionally well coming down the Fedex final stretch. Is often seen near the top of leaderboards in thin fields.

Kevin Na.  (67)  Strong in all categories and lights this course up. A little unpredictable, but should have a good week.

Keegan Bradley.  (92)  Ranks well in all key stat categories, especially SGT2G. Has been really great of late. Look out for Bradley.

Ryan Moore (46) / Tony Finau  (49) (Toss Up).   These two are really close in stat categories. Our One-N-Done league Power Pick just took Finau. This writer is leaning towards Moore.

LONGER SHOTS

Bryson DeChambeau.  (86)

Sam Saunders.  (300)

OLD FAITHFULS

Martin Laird (91)

Phil Mickelson   (30)

Zach Johnson  (43)
