2018 Omega Dubai Desert Classic

Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Emirates Golf Club is one of the oldest and finest tracks in the region. This week it will play as a 7,316-yard par 72 and will heavily favor players who can go long off the tee. However, many of the holes feature significant bends and will require creative shot making. The wind could be a factor here as the course is totally exposed, so it may be worth a look at the forecast and tee times to see if some players will get an advantage.

Some stats to focus on: Driving Distance, GIR, and GIR Putting.

‘FORE’ SOMES are chosen by selecting one player from a “low tier” betting pool (30:1 or better), two players from a “mid tier” (30:1 – 75:1), and a final player from a “high tier” (75:1 & up).

Thomas Pieters  (25:1).  The tall Belgian turns 26 on Saturday and he had an excellent showing last week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC, finishing T5 after a disappointing 72 in round four. His game really fits the model this week as Pieters sits currently in the top 10 on the European Tour for Driving Distance, GIR, and GIR Putting. He wasn’t able to put all four days together last week, but he certainly could here

Dylan Fritelli (50:1) & Paul Dunne (66:1).  Is there anyone who isn’t sold on Fritelli being a force on the European Tour right now? At this pace, it won’t be but just a few more events until he becomes one of the weekly favorites. He’s got the driver for this track and his recent form is pure fire. Paul Dunne, we suspect, will be flying under the radar here this week. The 25-year-old Irishman had a fabulous 2017 season and finished T19 last week with Richard Sterne and Fritelli. So far this season he is averaging 296 off the tee, 69.6 per round, and 29.25 putts per round.

Fabrizio Zanotti  (125:1).  The Paraguan finished T9 last week and has told the media he feels his game is ready to compete for wins. When he is on, he is dangerous. And his GIR and GIR Putting stats are enough for us to ride him this week.

Henrik Stenson  (11:1)

Bernd Weisberger  (35:1)

Chris Paisley  (80:1)

Thomas Detry  (80:1)

Rafa Cabrera Bello  (28:1)

Dylan Fritelli  (50:1)

Chris Paisley  (80:1)

Fabrizio Zanotti  (150:1)   *differing odds are from sports.williamhill.com/bet
