2018 Fort Worth Invitational

2018 Fort Worth Invitational

Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas – This is the last stop on the Texas swing and it brings us to the legendary Colonial Country Club, which has been in the PGA Tour rotation since 1946. This week the course will play as a 7,209-yard, par 70. It is short(ish) and narrow with lots of sharp doglegs and small, quick, bentgrass greens. There’s a lot of bunkers in play off the tee and water to contend with on 6 of the holes. A lot of players will be looking to get in good position off the tee and get hot with their irons and/or putter. Bombers may enjoy a little advantage here, but not as much as at other tracks. Could be a week for those SG/APP guys. There will be a lot of opportunities for average-length hitters to go pin seeking. Winner gets a RED PLAID Jacket. How’s that for incentive?

‘FORE’ SOMES are chosen by selecting one player from a “low tier” betting pool (30:1 or better), two players from a “mid tier” (30:1 – 75:1), and a final player from a “high tier” (75:1 & up).

Jimmy Walker  (28:1).  On his game and in Texas. Did you see that 20 footer he canned on 17 Sunday? Walker is feeling it and on a shorter track where he can let his approach and putt game do the talking? I love it. I was on Fantasy Jesus and cross referenced a couple of lists. When you look at SG T2G and SG Putting side by side for the past rolling 10 events, Walker is fourth behind only Bryson DeChambeau, Webb Simpson, and Justin Rose. Given his current heat, I really like him at 28:1.

Bryson DeChambeau  (33:1)  & Chesson Hadley  (45:1).  Bryson DeChambeau is the first name in two cross-referenced lists for the past 10 rolling events. SG T2G/Putting. First. SG Approach/Proximity. First. Bryson is having a hell of a season and he’s a guy I believe in to do outstanding things on the PGA Tour. He’s got a nearly automatic golf swing and has not come close to peak potential yet. I’m looking to him to have a solid week. Chesson Hadley’s SG Approach and Proximity numbers are through the roof. He’s another guy who is having an awesome season. Colonial should set up really nicely for him.

Satoshi Kodaira  (150:1).  150:1 for a player that just won last month at the RBC Heritage? Really?? Never mind that his stats are super solid. This number is ridiculous. Auto bet for me. Danny Lee at 90:1 is also tempting.

**(differing odds come from Will Hill)

Jon Rahm  14:1

Bryson DeChambeau  33:1

Emiliano Grillo  50:1

Sam Burns  100:1

Adam Scott  28:1

Matt Kuchar  33:1

Kevin Kisner  40:1

Brian Harman  66:1
